Product Details
This elegant Dutch side table dates from the 1920s and reflects the the Hague School’s architectural restraint with also a hint of the more expressive details of the Amsterdam School. Compact yet sculptural, it is a beautifully balanced accent piece that rewards close viewing from every angle.
Crafted in solid oak, the table features a circular top supported by four softly rounded vertical legs, connected by a cruciform lower stretcher. The proportions are slender and architectural, giving the piece a light, upright presence. The spherical feet, a subtle nod to Amsterdam School design, add a playful yet grounded finish and visually anchor the table to the floor.
The open structure allows light to pass through the piece, emphasizing its rhythm of solids and voids. From different viewpoints, particularly appealing as a stand-alone accent or sculptural side table.
These small-scale modernist tables are increasingly sought after for their versatility and character. Ideal beside a chair or sofa, or as an occasional table in a curated interior, they bring authentic early Dutch modernism into contemporary spaces with ease.
