A French Art Deco/Haagse School style side chair (or dining chair) from around 1925/1930. The design of this chair is clearly inspired on the designs by Hendrik Wouda. Whereas Wouda made these chair in oak, this chair was made in walnut and macassar, We have added a picture of a very similar chair by Wouda. This chair was most probably made just after the Art Deco Exposition in Paris 1925 where Wouda exhibited a similar chair. The (removable) seat has the original padding and springs inside and has been reupholstered in off white luxurious fabric.
Style is The Hague School. Suitable for styling, giving a Dutch Deco accent to the room, but constructively also in very good condition and perrfectly stable. Great as a side chair in bedroom or to place at a vanity.
