Maison Jansen, founded in 1880, was a Paris-based interior decorator. Jansen is considered the first truly global design firm, serving clients in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East. The founder of Maison Jansen, Jan Hendrik Jansen, was Dutch and his famous father H.F. Jansen had a famous business selling Amsterdam School furniture.
The prestigious Parisian decoration House of Jansen was known for elegancy and lavish luxury. Their style was influenced by the more traditional European designs, but also by Art Deco & the Arts & Crafts movement. Maison Jansen sold their furniture and all kinds of brass palm lamps to the worldwide elite, including the Kennedy family and the Belgian royal family.
Maison Jansen was located at 23, rue de l'Annonciation, Paris, and closed in 1989.
