High quality 1920s-1930s chair in solid oak and macassar veneered backrest. Simple but attractive design, pleasing to the eye. The design is attributed to manufacturer 't Woonhuys (see the original ad on last picture).
The company 't Woonhuys was an Amsterdam basesd furniture factory founded in 1907, managed by F.J. Zeegers. Michel de Klerk and Hildo Krop designed a variety of custom made furniture and also the more serial work (like this chair) for 't Woonhuys. Until 1918, the company was located at Vijzelstraat, later Prinsengracht and Leidsestraat (famous shopping streets of Amsterdam).
The chair is very stable, and has been freshly upholstered with great craftmanship. It's comfortable while still having used the original springs inside. The small table is also available.
