Product Details

A modernist - Dutch Art Deco one of a kind octagonal chess table with inlay of formica. Estimated around the 1950s to 60s, because the chess board is in formica, a sort of plastic, well known from the West German plant table tops.

The base of the table is made from elm, and is in good stable condition with a solid structure and lovely wood grain.
The table together with the chess set is very pleasing to the eye and as it shows in the pictures, looks absolutely stunning when paired with a zig zag chair.
The design and manufacture of the handcarved wooden chess set is estimated around 1930, the set is complete and in very good shape. It comes in a hand made wooden box. The pieces have an art deco/modernist appearance. Both table and pieces qualify as works of art as well as being perfectly usable pieces, which would fit perfectly in an artistic, out of the box interior.

Preferably sold together, but feel free to ask us about either.
