The Daalderop factory was founded in 1880 by J.N. Daalderop. SInce the early years they produced household items like tableware, pots and dishes, kettles, and gas lamps. The family business was under the undisputed leadership of Johan Daalderop (1883-1961). Until the Second World War their most important designer was Meine Huisenga. Klaas van Aken was also one of the designers.
It is documented that the style of their products at some point started evolving towards Art Deco and the Amsterdam School, but pieces with these kind of charactericts - decorative balls - are rather scarce and sought after. The more common pieces with a less pronounced style are still commonly found in many Dutch households.
