An Amsterdam School solid oak small side table or pedestal from around 1920, Netherlands. In near perfect condition, perfect proportions, artistic design, very possibly by one of the Dutch Art Deco interior architects.
Amsterdam School is a collective name for an exuberant, imaginative and innovative design style from the period 1910-1930 by a diverse group of architects, interior designers and sculptors. Famous names: Michel De Klerk, Hildo Krop, Piet Kramer en J.M. van der Meij.
Amsterdam School architects have designed a lot of exteriors and interiors in Amsterdam, but the style spreaded further all around the Netherlands. The Hague has its own variant with the Hague School.
