A tea or coffee service first, designed in the early 1920s by Chris van der Hoef. At the time a very radical avantgarde design, visibly inspired by the modernists and the Bauhaus movement. Very decorative, tactile and still very modern and stylish. It combines perfectly with modernist and avantgarde interiors, as illustrated with some of the pictures.
The set consists of a teapot, a sugarbowl and a milkjug. Condition is excellent, no dents end only light wear. The handels are made of bakelite.
The set is documented in several historical design publicatins and also depicted in the Dutch valuation reference book about Art Deco and Art Nouveau book (part II) by R. Zeegers.
